Silicone tooling is a popular prototyping process that produces engineered plastic parts to simulate production material. The parts are often used to test fit and function or in some cases as short-run production parts. Our production parts have been widely used in the medical industry utilizing a UL rated urethane.
IMPM has perfected techniques for optimizing the performance of silicone rubber molds to extend mold life, increase part accuracy and enhance surface finish.
We guarantee 100 shots from our silicone tooling!
IMPM stocks over 140 different materials and can produce urethane castings in any durometer and color. We offer a color match service. Simply provide us with a pantone color and we can either cast parts in color or paint to meet your needs. We can also add any texture either to the pattern to be molded in or as a secondary operation during the painting process.
The TWR-100 injection system manufactured by IMPM for thin walled RIM molding features advanced capabilities for variable speeds for precise control of mix ratios, shot sizes and material flow rates, vacuum holding tanks that ensure air-free material delivery using static or dynamic mixing.
Often times, products are expected to have short product lives due to rapidly changing technology. Short-run production allows you to create your part for quick time-to-market without the huge up front costs!
